ROLE PROFILE

EXPERIENCED SOCIAL WORKER

CHILDREN’S SERVICES


REPORTS TO: Team Manager


36 hours per week


GRADE: PO2 or PO6

SALARY: PO2 - £30,756 - £33,136

                 PO6 - £34,106 - £37,107


Purpose:

To undertake social work with children and families across the Wirral in a manner that evidences high quality and an outcome focused approach.


Key Responsibilities:

Work effectively with a varied caseload which may comprise children displaying complex needs in high risk situations.

Be familiar with Safeguarding policy and procedure pertaining to children.

Provide high quality assessment and analysis in respect of children and families.

Contribute to the creation and oversight of outcome focused plans in respect of children across all continuums of need.

Skilled and effective direct work with children of all ages and levels of need.

Be skilled working with vulnerable of challenging families to safeguard or promote the welfare of children.

Effective interagency liaison which contributes to plans and outcomes for children.

Prepare for and respond to supervision and management oversight

Provide mentoring or practice advice as agreed to newly qualified or inexperienced social workers


Person Specification:

The post holder will:

Hold a relevant social work qualification

Hold an up to date registration with HCPC and evidence of on going CPD and an up to date knowledge of changes within children’s social care

Have extensive experience of working within a statuary children and families setting

Be able to manage a complex caseload in a busy and changing environment

Be a resilient effective practitioner able to work to deadlines and evidence effective time management

Be confident advocating in a variety of professional settings in respect of children.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to a high professional standard.
