Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. The council and its partners have pledged to #BeTheDifference.
We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities - #BeTheDifference.
Wirral Leaving Care Service is looking for dynamic individuals who would be genuinely passionate about the welfare of our care leavers aged 16 - 25; and who will go the extra mile to ensure our young people are safe and achieve their full potential in all respects. Applicants should have experience working with the 16 - 25 age group and have relevant qualification at A-Level or higher.
Wirral Leaving Care Service was re-launched in 2017 and has already made considerable progress in improving the Wirral Council Local Offer for Care Leavers, and this has been recognized by OFSTED in the last inspection of Wirral's Childrens' Service.
We are determined to continue to make further progress and improve the support we offer to our young people in ways we are already planning and ways we haven't even thought of yet. This is an exciting period when Personal Advisors will continue to work with their own individual caseload of young people aged 16 to 25; but also develop, support, participate in and lead project work with groups of young people and other professionals covering literally anything of benefit to our young people.
We are currently opening a dedicated Hub building for our Care Leavers in central Birkenhead which will become the focus and location for much of our new developments, services and our Leaving Care community.
This job isn't for the faint hearted but if you really care about the welfare of young people it may be exactly what you are looking for. It can be both a really challenging and really rewarding role with no two days ever the same.
