We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities - #BeTheDifference.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the new General Parks Manager.

The successful applicant will be part of the Wirral Parks and Countryside team.

As part of a restructure of Wirral Council's Parks and Countryside Service, there are two vacancies for the above post, one in North district and one in Wallasey district.  Your will be part of a team of six General Parks Managers who cover Wirral.

Your will be responsible for the day to day management of parks and open spaces, allotments, countryside, coastal areas, playgrounds, events, trees and cemeteries within the designated area; you will also be required to work in other areas as service needs dictate, through the management of team leaders, rangers and grounds maintenance operational staff, and work with Friends groups and other organisations.

You will need to have a HNC or HND in Parks Management Sector or equivalent qualifications or experience.

Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our employees/residents/customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated person, experienced in this type of work; skilled at communicating in an engaging manner, and capable of forming strong effective partnerships with a wide diversity of people.
